Training Needs Analysis (TNA) Catagory 2 (B)

What is a training needs analysis? A training needs analysis (TNA) is a technique, which helps to identify an individuals or group training needs. The aim of this TNA is to ensure that the course meets the specific needs of the delegate(s).

All delegates who are to undertake training on Non-Licensable work with asbestos MUST have already completed an Asbestos Awareness course. Please bring the certificate with you as proof.

Below is a list of modules which can be used as a ‘pick and mix’ to ensure that the training course is tailored to the specific requirements of the work you will be carrying out. It is therefore important that you identify which modules are essential to you.

Modules starting ‘EM’ are mandatory modules which are included for all Non-Licensable work with asbestos training courses:


EM1. What to do if you uncover or damage materials that may contain asbestos.
EM2. Training.
EM3. Building and dismantling a mini-enclosure.
EM4. Using a class-H vacuum cleaner for asbestos.
EM5. Wetting asbestos materials.
EM6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
EM7. Using damp rags to clean surfaces of minor asbestos contamination.
EM8. Personal decontamination.
EM9. Disposal of asbestos waste.
EM10. Statement of cleanliness after textured coating removal.

Next is a list of optional modules you can choose from and your choice should be dictated by the work you will be carrying out. Look down the list and identify the modules you require. Prices for courses will vary dependant on the number of modules selected.
